The Christian Walk

Sweet are the days of sunshine,
When everything goes right,
Sweeter still the days of peace,
In which God's love shines bright.

When everything is going well,
And for each gift we thank Him,
Consistently it's on our minds,
For us His life was given.

But through the deepest, darkest nights,
When feeling lost, forsaken,
Do we remember to thank Him still,
When for us His life was taken?

Bitter hardships break and tear,
Friendships fail and start,
But God is always standing there,
Prepared to mend your heart.

Carrying us through violent storms,
Yet shielding us from harm,
He reads our inmost, deepest thoughts,
Then calms our worst alarm.

While sickness challenges our strength,
To trust and never fear,
We must remember day and night,
That Jesus Christ is near.

Keeping on the narrow way,
Eternity now awaits me,
I dream of heaven and my Lord,
His glorious face to see.

Now knowing this, that I am saved,
My life is now in keeping,
With my Lord and Saviour, Christ;
Of heaven now I'm dreaming.

With confidence I face the world,
Though sin may sorely tempt me;
I'm waiting for the day I shall,
To heaven hasten quickly.

Though brief our lives be, here on earth,
We must remain a light,
So other men may know we walk,
By faith and not by sight.
